How to determine whether that turnkey website offer you are considering is a good deal or just a scam.
An old friend of mine I have not heard from in years just left a message on my answering machine. She was absolutely chortling with glee as she told me all about this wonderful business deal she had made. I finally found the secret to how to make money on the internet! she said, I found this website and the owner is making millions! You really have to get in on this deal. But you have to hurry, because we are only accepting a limited number of new investors. You just will not believe how easy it is! The company will set up a nice turnkey website and update the content for you. All you have to do is sit back and wait for the big bucks to start pouring into your account. You really need to sign up right away! It only costs $500 dollars, and you will probably make ten times that much in less than a month! All you have to do is go to my site and sign up. she said, then rattled off the URL before she hung up.

My friend had definitely NOT found the secret to how to make money on the internet. What she had spent her hard earned money on was NOT a turnkey website. It was just a page on a website with her own company name printed in bold type near the top right corner. It was loaded with promises of riches and the image of a pretty little document proclaiming her to be a certified member of the company.

As I browsed through the website, I found hundreds of pages exactly like hers. The woman had spent 500 dollars and she had not even received a domain name of her own much less a website! You can bet your bottom dollar nobody is going to find her web page on a search engine! She will not even be able to bring in few customers by exchanging links because she is not allowed to upload a link directory to the site. So where do all these big bucks she is supposed to make from this turnkey website come from?

Why it is quite simple, my friend, all she has to do is convince her friends and relatives to invest in her new business venture and she will get half the profits from the sale! Of course, if you do not happen to have four thousand friends and relatives willing to invest 500 bucks in your new business venture solely because you recommend it, then you can kiss that million dollars goodbye, along with the 500 bucks you invested in your new business venture. Because you, my friend, have have just thrown away your hard earned money on another get rich quick scam.

There are some fantastic turnkey website packages you can actually use to make money on the internet. Unfortunately, scam artists are using the term turnkey websites so often that they are giving honest dealers a bad reputation in the industry.

A legitimate turnkey website is a package deal, which includes a complete professionally designed website you can use to sell products or services to your customers. The package usually includes all the products shown in the catalog at the time of purchase or the software necessary to perform the services you offer for sale on the site. You should also receive free setup and installation as well.

In some cases, the website catalog features products you may purchase wholesale from a supplier who will drop ship the products. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term, a true drop shipper will package and ship the product to your customers using a label with your company name and address instead of their own.

For obvious reasons, a reputable dealer will not provide you with the name of the supplier of your products before you purchase your website package. However the dealer can and should provide you with a current wholesale price list so you can determine your profit margin for each product included in your catalog if you request it.

Regardless of what products and services you choose to sell, no reputable turnkey website dealer will offer you a percentage of sales. Once purchased, your site, and any profits you earn from the sales of your products or services belongs to you. Most turnkey websites include the means to earn multiple streams of income, with Adsense, and affiliate ads such as eBay or Amazon already set up on the website. Again, any income earned from these ads is entirely yours.

A reputable dealer will provide a working demo version of the turnkey website, so you can see up front precisely what you are purchasing. They will provide you with a list of what is included in your package. They will tell you that you will have to purchase your own hosting plan and your own domain name before they can set up your site for you.

Because of the many variations in features provided by hosting companies, most dealers will recommend a hosting provider for your site. I suggest that you follow their recommendations since they are more inclined to suggest a provider with the features necessary to install and operate your site at peak efficiency. However you should have the option of choosing your own service provider as long as that provider offers the features required. After you purchase the package, the website belongs to you. You can add more products and pages, or edit the existing pages to your hearts content.

If you really want to make that dream of owning your own business come true, the first step is to accept the fact that you are not going to make a million dollars overnight. Sure, you can get rich on the internet, but you are going to have to work for it. So do your homework. If you do not know HTML, or you do not have a product or service you can sell, find a reputable dealer and purchase yourself a professionally designed turnkey website package. Set your self realistic goals. Seek the advice of other entrepreneurs like yourself by joining some of the forums where they congregate. Ask questions, listen and learn, then use what you learn to improve and promote your site, and you will achieve your dream.
